To create your presentation, simply open CRE8 and check boxes to select the number of menu items that you want to appear on the "home" page of your presentation. Next, type a name next to each check box to title each section. Then, select the number of slides that you want each menu item to contain. You can the edit each presentation slide by browsing for images or video then and inserting text. The layout on each page can be changed "with a click" to: text on left-image in right, text on right-image on left, text on top -image on bottom, text on bottom-image on top, text only, image only. To insert a background just browse to the one you wish to use and select it. Sound files for each slide can be selected in the same way of you want something different on a specific slide. Each menu item or slide can be switched on or off so you can add and subtract entire sections without losing your work.

CRE:8 software will display a number or popular graphics and video formats as well as flash files. If you already have a flash website, you can insert it into a slide and it will play as it would in the web. Inserting the flash file as a background will cause it to run at an 800x 600 pixel size. You can also link to Acrobat PDF and Powerpoint documents from either the main menu or a text link.

With the release of version 2.1, swf flash files (up to flash 5) can be inserted as a background. This allows the creation of your own animated menu and page backgrounds and the display of a complete flash website file or intro. It also accepts many swf files created by other programs. Users of FlashMX must publish as flash 5 compatible. Swish users export as "movie". If you are using a software that creates swf files, try and insert it as media or as a background. If it displays in preview mode, it is compatible.

While you are working on your project, you can preview it at anytime by simply clicking the preview button provided on the main menu of the software. Publishing is accomplished in the same way. Just click export! All of your flies are published to a single folder complete with an auto start so the presentation will start automatically. If you have linked to a powerpoint or pdf file, they will be copied there as well. Your original remains editable and the published version is locked from further editing or tampering when deployed on a CD-ROM.

To burn your poject to a CD, just open your favorite CD creation software and add all of the files inside your published folder.

To view the presentation from your hard drive, browse to the folder (using windows explorer or Start-Run and select "go.exe". You presentation will run just as it would on a CD. This can be very useful for "in person" situations and each project can be quickly tailored to each client.
